Chapman Brothers
Jake and Dinos Chapman, known as the Chapman brothers, are British artists known for their controversial and provocative works. Born in England in 1966 and 1962 respectively, they have been collaborating since the late 1980s.
The Chapman Brothers’ art is characterized by its controversial themes that challenge
societal boundaries.
They incorporate popular culture imagery such as toys, cartoons, and pornography into their artwork, often addressing historical references related to war and violence. One of their famous series is “Hell,” featuring intricate dioramas depicting Nazi war crimes and Holocaust scenes, which has garnered both praise and criticism for its political and
social commentary.
Their works have been exhibited worldwide, including at prestigious institutions like the the Royal Academy of Arts, and
the Gagosian Gallery.
Notable works include “The Chapman Family Collection,” sculptures that combine children’s toys with sexual or violent imagery, and “Fucking Hell,” a miniature World War II battle scene housed in a glass vitrine filled with over 20,000 hand-painted figurines.
Now that you know a little bit about these 2 brothers and their work, you’ll understand this visual identity.
It’s concept was based on the rage that their art is characterized by its controversial themes that challenge societal boundaries, therefore, i’ve created a new typeface with thin red lines to represent the rage and violent shown on their artworks.
